EE, here you go, another argument for the QND 1 vote. Tuscola loses to 2A Maroa, who moves up to second but gets no first place votes, and Tuscola remains a solid 1. In fact, BC wins over 7th rated Triopia who was in the top four the week before and beats Rout in two straight weeks and loses ground. It says one thing to me, the coaches poll does not respect the QIVC the way some of us would think they should. And the win over BC lat yer by Tuscola is still fresh in their minds. Probably correct but makes me wonder this. If IW had lost to QND, qould they have stayed number 1 in 3A. Probably not. And who would you respect more then IW in their history. Another reason I do not care much for polls. You still have to play the game.

Just my opinion, but I think the poll absolutely got this right. Tuscola has already beaten Tolono Unity, Decatur St. Theresa, and Moweaqua Central A&M. All 3 of those teams would likely win the WIVC, and that is not a shot at the WIVC. I have a lot of respect for BC, Routt, and Triopia. Tuscola just plays an absolute beast of a schedule.

Most of those are 2A or even 3A teams so they should win the WIVC, but that is in doubt. My only point is that Alabama is probably still the best team in the nation but dropped to 8th after a loss. Just the way polls work usually.

Agreed. And notice that Alabama is still ranked ahead of South Carolina.
The WIVC has made area football much more interesting because teams are really matched-up based on enrollment more than ever. Three top 10 teams in one area conference? Just great for our area. If those teams are playing the IW's and other 3A teams like they used to, maybe they don't get the same state wide recognition they see now.

That's why most polls are ludicrous. If you're the best team in the nation (or state), you should be ranked #1.

I think while often rediculous, polls are fun and meaningless really. Only the post season standings count. If you're the "best team" why did you lose a game? I don't care if on paper Bama is far and away the best team in the country. To me once you lose, you can't claim a spot over those teams that have not been less than perfect. Now if those undefeated teams ranked ahead of them flub up and lose a game, I could see Bama jumping back over them. But not until then. You gotta win your games!
