Had an amazing chance to see the Iowa vs. Eastern Illinois game this past weekend. 3rd row on the 40 might i add. And must i say impressive doesn't cover the half of it. Iowa City was a blast. Although i was there for the Panthers in blue i enjoyed watching the Hawkeyes incredible student section go nuts. Talk about a bright place to be during the day. A true sea of Gold and Black.

Anyways, point being, this game featured two Tri-State athletes in Dominic Pagliara, a QND alum, and Keokuk's very own James Vandenberg. Was nice to see both getting playing time. Pagliara started for EIU at left tackle while Vandenberg saw time in both halfs. Just a tidbit i thought i'd share. Nice to see, even in all that chaos and craziness that is college football, that a couple kids from home could prove their talents as well.

***Sidenote, I heard from a couple sources that Jack Cornell, offensive guard Univ. of Illinois and QND alum, was also getting some serious PT on opening week versus Mizzou.

I thought that Jack Cornell did pretty well in the first half, did not get to see the second half. Good shout out to all the D1 QND linemen, (Dancer WIU, Cornell U of I, Pagliara EIU, "Big Jimmy" WIU to name a few. Hopefully Reichert is coming along well too at Army.)

IMO Cornell did a great job at gaurd, and should be the starter. The guy he went in for was getting his a$$ handed to him in the second half. I hope our local boy gets the starting spot here soon.

I really hope he gets it because he was doing better than the other guy.

I also was at the game and saw big Jack doing very well. Not sure why they didn't leave him in. When the starter returned he was having a difficult time blocking. Nice to see Jack on the big screen at the Dome and know he played in our area.
