Lance McMahon fanned 17 Mustang batters leading Knox County (6-13) to a 9-2 win at Marion County. The Eagles scored four first inning runs and led the entire game. Clay Pollard broke up the KCHS senior's no-hit bid with a two out third inning single.

RD Nagel sent a fly ball to the right center field gap with two down in the Marion County (1-2) sixth inning. Eagle outfielder Keanan Kite made a sliding try but could not corral the baseball. JJ Chatfield made Knox County pay for a two out base on balls, scoring the second Mustang run on the play.

Clay Pollard scored the first MC run on a third inning error. Knox County coach Jesse Crawford stole the sixth Eagle run in the fourth inning. Crawford sent Dylan Morgret into a run down play with Tristan Lonberger on third and two out. Morgret reached on a base hit. Lonberger scored after Keanan Kite raced home on the hit.

Morgret collected an RBI hit during a two run sixth inning. Colton Danger led off the Knox County fifth frame with a hit and later scored for a 7-1 lead.

Lance McMahon struck out 17 of the 28 batters he faced. McMahon allowed two hits on three bases on balls and a hit batsman. McMahon also had two hits on the day and scored a first inning run. Keanan Kite was 1-3 with three Knox County runs scored. Kite had a key two run single in the first inning.

Knox County scored nine runs on nine hits and three errors. Lance McMahon and Marion County pitcher Nathan Witkowsky went the distance on the hill. Witkowsky struck out six batters with four walks on nine hits. Four Knox County runs were earned by unofficial scorekeeping.

Marion County scored two runs on two hits and two errors. The Mustangs stranded four while Knox County left seven men on base.

Cameron Morford drove Tristan Lonberger home with a one out hit in the top of the eighth inning, leading the Eagles to a 9-8 win at Putnam County. The victory evened Knox County's conference mark at 2-2. Monroe City handed the Eagles an 11-10 loss in non-conference action at Monroe City. Shane Williams made Knox County pay dearly for an infield error that could have ended the game. Williams drilled a Lance McMahon offering for a walk off home run.

Madison pitcher Allen Koontz blanked Knox County on three hits in May 6 non-conference baseball play. The Panthers pushed the lone run of the contest home in the first inning. KCHS lefty Cole Sutton pitched all six innings for the Eagles with seven strikeouts. Sutton took the tough luck loss for Knox County.

The Eagles have their Senior Night game set for May 11. Undefeated Laplata is the scheduled opponent. Knox and Scotland County have rescheduled their Tri-Rivers Conference meeting for Wednesday, May 12 at Scotland County. The May 10 Knox County vs. Macon game has been cancelled.
