Spartans Win Season Opener 50-12 Over Peoria Punishers.

The Quincy Spartans opened up the 2010 season in fine style, putting the wood to the Peoria Punishers at Peroria 50-12 on Sunday, March 7.

The Spartans controlled the game from the get go. Defense held the Punishers and forced them to punt. After the great return by Tyler Buckman, Jr Clay was able to punch it in for his 1st of 3 scores. Both Derrick Minter and James Branch had an interception. QB Craig Moore showed why most defenders are afraid to takle him, when there is 250lb Qb running at them it is scary, he had plenty of broken takles and added a couple of tds along with Brett Miller and Andrew Kessner. It was a great well fought battle in the trenches in which the Spartans controlled all day long.
