Towards the end of the third quarter in the Championship game of the Novinger tournament, Scotland County was leading Laplata comfortably by about ten points... Scotland then just absolutely fell apart and were bashed by the Bulldogs of LaPlata.
Over the next eight minutes, LaPlata put on an onslaught the likes of which I haven't seen in years... and ended up winning the championship 51-37 leaving the SC faithful, players and coaches in a state of shock.
In the girls game, two young teams fought out a really good duel, with the Lady Tigers of Scotland County squeaking out a last second win over the Milan Wildcats by a score of 58-56
In the boys third place game, it was the Green City Gophers over the Brashear Tigers in a surprise to some, by the score of 63-48.
The girls third place game between LaPlata and Bevier wasn't much of a game, with LaPlata dominating from start to finish on their way to a blowout win. LaPlata won 64-36 and the game wasn't even as close as the score sounded.
I will be posting photo threads from all four of these games, I shot one half of each game from the perspective of one team, so I should have a few decent shots of each team.
The gym lighting there at Novinger is HORRIBLE and I was having all kinds of white balance issues (I don't shoot basketball with flashes) so I am going to have to do some editing. You will see them soon!
