Everything pretty much shook out how I expected it to for our area teams. IMO the Macomb regional wasn't in much doubt after WH and IW played this week. Pittsfield deserves the 1 seed in their regional, but they won't have a cake walk either. In the Stanford Olympia regional, I don't know anything about the host team, but I watched the BCC boys at the State Farm Classic and I was impressed. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them win that regional.

Ok in a 5 team regional how does it play out 2 v5 and 3 v 4? but then who does # 1 seed play? Any ideas?

I would think that Decatur St. Theresa would scare me a little coming out of Williamsville.

In a 5 team regional, your 2 lowest seeded teams play in a "play in" game to face the top seed. Once that game is done, the semi finals are played and then the final game.

DUh never though of that, thanks. Dang look at WH v QND again and Macomb V Illini West...dang.
Beardstown has a big guy, maybe 6-7, 6-8, but I am guessing not much to go with him?

A couple other notes. Top 2A teams Canton and Manual are in the same regional. Hales Franciscan and Leo are also in the same regional. Going back and looking at the assignments from earlier, Manual would feed into the Farmington sectional, and the DeKalb NIU supersectional where they would be likely to meet Winnebago. Hales feeds into the Clifton (Central) sectional and the Joliet supersectional. Our local teams, if any of them should advance from the sectional would feed into the Springfield UIS supersectional.

No more Macomb supersectional for either small school classes.

A couple of things....

1.) I thought the Pleasant Plains and Macomb regional winners were going to play in the semis at PORTA, but that would be a championship game now.

2.) St. Teresa beat Auburn by 4 earlier in the year, meaning they may not be as tough as their record shows.

I'll take Pittsfield to win the Plains regional over Plains and QND to beat Macomb at Macomb.

Yep, QND and Pittsfield could possibly square off in the PORTA Sectional championship game as Pittsfield would have to take on the Olympia Regional winner and QND the Williamsville Regional winner.
