Quincy University women's basketball player Courtney Shuman has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Shuman, a junior forward, helped Quincy to a 2-0 record on the week averaging 23.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Shuman shot 67-percent from the field and 88-percent from the free throw line in the two games.
Shuman started the week by scoring a career high 25 points in the Lady Hawks 105-93 win over Bellarmine University. She followed that with a 21 point, five rebound performance in her team's 90-77 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday.
On the season Shuman is averaging 13.5 points and a team best 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 55-percent from the field. Quincy is currently 15-5 overall and 6-5 in the GLVC and sit in 3rd place in the GLVC North Division.
