This is going to become a weekly deal until the season is over.

Here's how it works. You list your top 10 teams (no ties allowed). You have until 5:00 PM Tuesday to post them to this thread. My crack accounting firm (they are ON crack, that is) will then calculate from your lists the top teams, in order. Teams will have to have a minimum number of mentions to be listed (more than half, rounding up) which will only come into play on the lower end of the list, probably.

The list is limited to 3A schools and smaller, in Missouri, and the area will be everybody within conference areas of the Clarence Cannon, Tri-Rivers, EMO, Lewis & Clark, Tri-County and elsewhere north of I-70, east of Highway 63, and north of St. Charles... north and east Missouri.

One list boys and girls here, but you don't have to do both if you are not comfortable doing one of them.

Here's mine.

Girls

1. South Shelby - winning, well coached, class of the CCC
2. Marion County - The team to beat statewide in Class 1
3. Macon - Fast and good, could challenge South Shelby in the end.
4. Canton - Small school with big talent.
5. Salisbury - after stumbling in opening game against Macon, are undefeated including redemption against the Lady Tigers.
6. Hallsville - great record, lots of dominating wins.
7. Sturgeon - Tough, hard nosed blue collar team. Gave Illini West all they wanted in a 59-55 loss. Only other losses are to Hallsville and Southern Boone.
8. Clopton - nearly beat South Shelby this week, won their own tournament and are dominating their conference. Face being overmatched by QND 1/18/2010
9. Knox County - 4-0 in the Tri-Rivers, 8-4 overall, Peters is a big-time scorer
10. Bowling Green - 7-3, but two of the losses are to Quincy Notre Dame.

Boys

1. Sturgeon - Beat Macon head to head, and put in the subs on Illini West when they were up 30 on the Chargers on a neutral court.
2. Macon - This team is loaded with talent. Tate one of area's best.
3. Paris - Gilliam is the BOMB.
4. Schulyer County - The class team of the Tri-Rivers
5. LaPlata - fast and well coached, best Class 1 school in NEMO
6. Van-Far Playing well and coming on, played Paris tough.
7. Elsberry - good record against bigger schools and conference foes (would be ranked higher without the horrid loss they had to Payson-Seymour)
8. Mark Twain - Solid if unspectacular
9. Clark County - (oddball schedule makes it hard to gauge where they are at)
10. Louisiana- beat the teams they "should" beat but need to step up

After this week-end, I would move Schuyler and LaPlata to 3 and 4 with Paris 5.
