The Quincy Spartans will be holding tryouts on Sunday, October 23.
They will be held at Porter Stadium/Softball fields adjacent to the YMCA, according to team co-owner Brian Cheney.
"Trying out is free, please come join us and bring workout apparel along with football cleats or tennis shoes. We are based in Quincy, IL and regular season practice starts in Jan. 2012."
The Spartans were 8-1 in 2011 and finished as conference champions. They went undefeated in 2010, bringing home Quincy's first semi-pro championship.
