The Quincy University softball team has been picked second in the 2010 Great Lakes Valley Conference Preseason Poll. Quincy received 171 total points in the poll behind only the University of Indianapolis which received 196 total points.

The Lady Hawks finished the 2009 season with a 28-25 overall record but a 15-6 record in the GLVC, finishing in second place in the conference. The Lady Hawks got off to slow start last year, going 3-11 in the first month but found their stride as the season went on closing with a 25-14 record. The Lady Hawks carried that momentum into the GLVC Tournament, their second tournament appearance in three seasons.

Quincy returns 13 players from last year's squad, including seven starters and their top two pitchers. The Lady Hawks will be led by All-Conference and All-Region performers Erin Gregory and Torie Bunzell. Gregory, a junior outfielder, hit .384 with nine home runs and 27 runs batted in last season. Bunzell, a junior pitcher, finished the season with a 23-13 overall record and a 1.18 earned-run average while leading the conference in strikeouts with 380 and earning All-American honors.

Indianapolis was picked first and followed by Quincy, Northern Kentucky, Lewis, Missouri-St. Louis, Missouri S&T, Southern Indiana, Bellarmine, Wisconsin-Parkside, Saint Joseph's, Rockhurst, Drury, Kentucky Wesleyan, Illinois-Springfield and Maryville.
