The Peoria Hawks are entering their second year of competition in the 8FL... well, sort of. The Hawks are a new team transformed from last year's Illinois Valley Lobos. The Lobos went 1-9 on the season, but the organization has undergone a complete refresh from ownership onwards, including a large influx of talent, a new logo, new uniforms and a new dedication to winning.
TriStateFans.com asked some questions of the Hawks, and team co-owner Bradley Stoetzer shares a rundown of the team that he and co-owner Tony Ware have put together for 2011.
TSF: Tell us about personnel. Who are your key new additions, your losses via retirement or team transfer, etc.

TSF: Where is your home field and what is the address so people can look it up for driving directions.
HAWKS: The Avanti's Dome, 3401 Griffin Avenue, Pekin, IL 61554-6253 or on the web at: http://avantisdome.com
TSF: What time do you plan to start your games.
HAWKS: Our Home games are as follows:
3/20 (Sangamon County Seminoles) and 3/27 (Tazewell Tigers) will be at 7:30pm
5/15 (Decatur Rage) and 5/22 (Capitol City Outlaws) will be at 4:00pm
Our Road games are as follows:
3/13 (Peoria Punishers) will be at 1:00pm (East Peoria High School)
4/3 (Quincy Spartans) will be at 2:00pm (Quincy University)
4/10 (STL Stars) will be at 2:00pm (TBD)
5/1 (Mid-State Thunderbirds) will be at 4:00pm (Avanti’s Dome)
TSF: Without giving away details to opponents, what are your main offensive and defensive priorities (i.e. do you see yourself as a passing team more this year, are you looking to blitz due to new players, etc.)
HAWKS: 2011 looks to be a relatively balanced Offensive team for the Hawks. We will have a strong running attack lead by Alex Harrington and Ron Sale but a, just as vicious, aerial attack lead by QB and team captain Zack Frey, returning WRs Alonziea Moore, Rich Johnson, Jerron Hobson and the new import of one of the league’s top players over the last 4 years, Asa Lewis.
For the Defensive side of the ball, the versatility of the Hawks players will really help out in all areas. Multi-positional players, many of who are veterans of the 8FL, will help adjust our squad to match up with practically any team we play.
The key to this year’s Hawks team will be our depth at each and every position.
TSF: Do you have any team goals (other than the obvious, to win the championship trophy)
HAWKS: Our expectations of this team are to work hard on and off the field. We are very family/community oriented and are using our teamwork in the community, not just on the field. But when it comes down to what we are here for, first and foremost…football, the expectations will be to play our hardest, to be disciplined and to be an organization of class and character.
TSF: Can you give a brief history of your team/organization (or provide a link to where it is... that link will be considered as a quote from you )
HAWKS: The Peoria County Hawks are a 2011 8FL team that was cast off from a 2010 8FL team named the Illinois Valley Lobos. The Lobos, who have since become a defunct team from their past ownership folding, had a solid group of individuals that decided to take over the reins of running the operation of the team for 2011. With the Hawk’s new ownership’s ideas and community involvement, they decided to change the team’s organization from every aspect. With a change in field location to team colors, and changes of team sponsors to team captains, there has been a complete overhaul. We are now…The Peoria County Hawks.
