I think I am going to take Payson over WC in the Championship. If Payson shoots well, they will give all these teams fits.

Not to start anything, because I am just a fan of the game. What do you see in that Payson/BC game?

West Central is better than what they showed the other night against Pittsfield. They are always tough in this tourney, as is Carrollton. They will be in the semi-final in the upper part of the bracket. As for the bottom bracket, it's wide open. Payson is way to inconsistent for me to say they will represent the bottom bracket in the championship. I've seen them 6 times this year and still don't know what type of team they are. BC is the hot team right now, but Liberty and Western are also capable of making it to the championship. I think I will take Carrollton over Western in the championship.

Not to start anything, because I am just a fan of the game. What do you see in that Payson/BC game?

I will agree Payson is very hot and cold, but if they play under control they put the most athletes on the floor. I watched them play at the Turkey tourny and then twice at Unity. They are playing a little more controlled basketball. Unfortunately they still get out of control a bit to much, but I just feel they are going to get a good run in. I have yet to see BC play so I am kinda taking Payson just because. This tourny is wide open this year.

I have been attending the WIT since the late 70'2 on a regular basis and spotty before that. So I would never consider myself an expert, like the historian, Kent Coultas, Richard Taylor, RIP Don Slater and many more. But this event offers some things you can not get in most other venues. A packed house for almost every contested game. Sure a few iwll be poorly attended, but game two is one that could be a battle right off the bat and I would expect the chance of 2-4 upset possibles. Great food, a wonderful raffle with lots of super prizes, a tourney that has literally a hundred volunteers to help. The half time shot for up to $1000 adds to the excitement. Wish Beardstown was still in, but this one puts WIVC and some even farther East against the old Pike Co conference teams head to head. If you have never spent a Saturday at WIT give it a try. Dog I did not make it to day one, but listened to some games on the radio and talked to a few coaches. They all think that the qtr final matchups are all a toss up. Maybe the most even field in the winners bracket in years.
As for me, I still like my pick for Payson, but I kinda wiffed on Gp over carolton.
What are your thoughts?

Any of the teams in the winners bracket can win this year. There isn't the one team that stands out as the most dominant. Payson has a good chance, but I'm going with North Greene. They struggled in the first round, but I think they will make a run.

WC and Carrolton win. WC held on almost losing big lead, Carrollton came from behind and held NG scoreless in 4th until last minute 28.
