Highland(3-6) was a step ahead in an end to end non-conference boys' match at Knox County. Dallas Job had a career night, pouring in a game high 29 points leading the Cougars to an 80-69 victory. Highland took the ball at the Eagles (5-3) early and often. Knox County scored the first five points of the game. Highland countered with a 12-2 run.
The Eagles never gave up, battling back from a 13 point deficit and tied the game at 46 with 4:03 to play in the third quarter. Every time Knox County made a run, Highland responded. Lindsey McDowell was impressive, scoring 14 Highland points. Adam Morrall was in double figures with 11 points.
Highland sank 36 field goals to 18 for the home standing Eagles. Justin Reeves had a 20 point, 13 rebound night despite the rugged Highland front line. Lance McMahon continued his fine play, scoring 17 Knox County points with 13 boards. Keenan Gillaspy scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Highland evened their girls' record at 4-4 with a 43-32 victory over the Lady Eagles. The Lady Cougars played good half court defense, inducing Knox County into passing the ball around looking for an opening. The result was 23 Knox County turnovers and 15 Highland steals.
