OK, here are my unofficial NEMO Basketball rankings for NEMO for Class 3 and below. It's a shame I couldn't put the Moberly Spartans in here, they are REALLY good but they are Class 4.
1) Sturgeon
2) Macon
3) Paris
4) South Callaway
5) Bowling Green
6) Mark Twain
7) Schuyler County
8) Elsberry
9) Van Far
10) Knox County
11) Clark County
*The best team in the area, bar none, may will be Class 4 Moberly… too big for my poll.
After the first couple, it's pretty much just a pick-em until we get more games in.
Right now, lots of schools are crossing the river or playing against schools that are in different classes.
Girls:
1) South Shelby
2) Canton
3) Marion County
4) Palmyra
5) Macon
6) Elsberry
7) Highland
8) Knox County
9) Hallsville
10) Sturgeon

This may be a dumb question from someone on the other side of the river but are Canton and South Shelby in the same class?

Cuttoffs are different for basketball and football, but since Canton doesn't play football we will only talk about basketball. Canton is Class 2, South Shelby is Class 3 and Marion County is Class 1.
Having said that, all three schools play each other in the regular season. Classes are pretty tight.
Cutoff is 130 and under for class one, 131-245 for class two and 246-577 for Class 3.
Canton had an enrollment of 183 last year making them one of the smallest Class 2 schools, while SS has an enrollment of 262 as of last year, making them one of the smallest Class 3 schools. Marion County has an enrollment of 71, making it pretty darned amazing they are on this list.
As a rule, Missouri schools are much smaller than Illinois schools since there hasn't been nearly as much consolidation here.
