1. QND- I think we can probably write them down with ink for the top spot. Cant see an area team beating them. (1)
2. Pfield-playing great D which is expected and B Hamilton is a stud. Like to see them do better in Macomb. (2)
3. Macomb-dont know much about them, but until teams from the area can beat them they stay here. (3)
4. CP-Had as good of a week as you could expect, beating Western by 28 and then beating Lib by 10 at Lib (4)
5. WH-Could jump to 2 with a good tourny at Macomb. (5)
6. BC-My high riser, look good right now. Love to see them knock of Lewistown. (11)
7. Payson-Very good team, deep, but boy do they foul all the time. (8)
8. Lib-Typical Coach K team, rugged and fiesty. Not an easy out. (9)
9. SE-probably a bit to high, but Bruenger is that good. (7)
10. WC-I never count out Coach Abell. (10)
11. IW-Is it possible the talent is now what we think it is? (6)
12.Unity-Good team that can beat or lose to anyone. Kinda scary. (UR)

Dropped: Western, they are in a tailspin. Talented starting 5, but they better regroup and I dont think SE and Macomb Tourny are good places to be doing that.

I like your list... I think after this next week we SHOULD have a really clear picture of who is who...

There are answers to be had at the Macomb tourney.

Pretty good list I would say.

I think I should go and watch some MO teams so we could have a big list. But it is hard to go watch that garbage they play over there. JK Photoguy. I would like to go and watch Paris play, watched them a 2 years ago against WH at the Subway shootout.

You are welcome to visit Knox County any time... in fact, I will pay for your ticket to get in BB...

Traditionally, Missouri has been weaker than Illinois... largely because of school size.

This year, however, with a couple of exceptions the better teams in Missouri might just give the Illinois kids trouble. In our area, Macon is the best team.

Schyler County is good, I will let you know about Highland after tonight.

Last year's Knox County team was one of the best in the area, but after graduating the school's all time leading scorer and three other starters, this year's team is very inexperienced (but still off to a 5-0 start, beating the only Illinois school they played).

So far at the rumble, Pittsfield's girls barely beat highland, Clopton girls beat Brussels, Knox boys beat Brussels, IW's JV beat a very weak Iberia team, IW girls held on over Sturgeon but the Sturgeon boys blew out IW. It's been pretty even.

Here on the Missouri side, Macon would give QND a game, but nobody else would. Paris is good as well.

On the girls side, South Shelby can play with ANYBODY around.

I will put together a list soon, but we are still too early to know for sure.

A lot of the CCC is really down in athletes this year.

I believe that Highland already got bounced around by some Illinois teams to start the year. I believe that QND and Western beat them, maybe Southeastern?

Yes, but Highland is one of those weird teams... you never really know about them... they can play really badly one night then beat a school the numbers say they shouldn't the next.

They will end up with a good record because the CCC is not very strong this year.

I haven't seen Macon play but given the opprotunity to face the Raiders i can't see them putting up much of a fight. But who knows i could be wrong.

As for the rankings list.. it's pretty well true with the exception of WH.. i'm not too impressed with them just yet.. they'd still be in my 9-11 slots. Other than that IW is WAY down compared to what i thought.. in the likes of Western this year unfortunately.

And photoguy i know this is a little too far west probably for you but do know anything about the Columbia schools this year?.. I'm sure they're much larger than the NEMO's but just wondered if you knew anything about Hickman?

I haven't seen QND play, but Macon would be a good game for any team in the area. Not saying Macon would win, but I have been watching boys play basketball for 35 years in this area, and I know what a good team looks like when I see them.

Unless QND is a 32-0 state championship team (which they might be, I don't know... I haven't seen them) then Macon would give them a game.

Macon is a 23-2 regular season kind of a team, but they are playing in a weak conference this year (the more I see of the CCC teams this year, the more I am thinking that Macon will just walk through the conference).

Which is kind of a pointless argument, since the two teams won't play...

Kind of like Centraila and Illini West in football this year. That would have been one heck of a game to see.

The problem with dropping WH is, who are you going to put ahead of them? There are just not that many teams in our area that are overly talented. And lets face it, with all the co-ops and consolidations, we are down about 10 area schools in the past 10 years.

I like your list but I don't think WH can win the Macomb tourney even though I am a big WH fan, I would have to to give the edge to Pittsfield this year.

The only thing is what teams would you put ahead of WH? They are 7-1 with a double OT loss to a much improved Central team.
